Statistics
Today the fabulous learners in Room 5 changed their tally chart into a graph! It was interesting listening to their conversations about how they should do it! We enjoyed reading the graphs. Next week we are going to ask our own question and interview our classmates!

Postponement
Just to let you all know, the Belfast in the Park event has been postponed until the 17th of September due to bad weather due this weekend. Please mark this date in your diary as we'd love to see you there!! The fabulous Belfast school Jump Jam teams will be preforming and fundraising for their trip to Auckland for Nationals!!
Kapahaka
Our Belfast School Kapahaka team preformed brilliantly last night at the cultural festival! Below is a link to their performance if you'd like to check it out!
Statistics
Today we started our own statistical investigations in small groups! Today we asked the class our question and made a tally chart! We are learning to tally to 5 with the line going through the 5 making it easier for us to count!
Next week we will turn our tally chart into a graph! How exciting!
Writing
Today we wrote about our favourite pet! Ruby wrote like a rocket and got all this fabulous writing done in 10 minutes! Way to go Ruby!
Numicon
This morning some keen learners made heaps of groups of ten with the numicon! They ended up getting to 440!!! How'd they count that high you ask?? In tens of course! How clever!
Reading
Today during reading the Starfish learnt a new game all about chunking words! They had to pick 2 blocks and put them together to see if it made a word! What a great skill! Look how many words they made!

Congratulations
A huge well done to both Zac and Riley P who passed their Click Lists last week! Keep practicing at home as it's definitely paying off!!
Statistics
To keep in the theme of book week, we decided to do a statistical investigation about our favourite Pete the Cat book! Read our tally chart and graph to see if you can interpret the results! I was also very impressed with the amount of children able to say 'statistics' today! Thanks for practicing
Buddies
Today during buddy reading we shared our favourite books in the sun! We loved seeing our buddies favourite books!
Winners!
Today Room 5 were the winners of he book week reading chain competition! We made a chain for every book we read together during book week and added them up! Today...we doubled our chain as we read 15 books! We were the winners with 29 books! Go Room 5

Statistics
This term on Fridays we are learning about statistics! We have learnt about asking questions, gathering data and making a tally chart and graph! Later in the term the children will be doing their own statistical investigations! We are also learning to say "statistics" so if you could practice at home it would be greatly appreciated
